Description

The Lenz Sport Launch SkiBike is the world benchmark for ski bike performance and design. With aggressive freestyle geometry, this is the ski bike for the rippers who want to shred the entire mountain and terrain park. This Skibike is perfect for riding trees, powder, freestyle terrain, moguls, back country and, as always, will slay a groomer with ease. If you are looking for the best all-around SkiBike on the market, you have found it. The Launch will impress the best Skibikers and also bring an intermediate rider up to the next level. The Launch features a “handmade in the USA” frame with proprietary Lenz Sport geometry, built from over 20 years of riding ski bikes. The Launch is made-to-order right here in the Colorado Lenz Sport Factory using American materials and top quality components. There is no comparison in the world of ski biking. If you want the best, the Launch is for you.

What’s the difference between the Launch and Recon?  If we were to speak in terms of mountain bikes, the Launch is like a dedicated downhill bike whereas the Recon is a long travel Enduro.

If the rider is new to skibiking or wants to improve their riding skill set, check out our How to ride a SkiBike page.  There is a lot of good information on both the SkiBike FAQ page as well as the Ski Bike Assembly & Good Info page.

*All Lenz Sport Ski Bike frames are 100% handmade. We are constantly improving our designs. We don’t wait for the next model year to introduce improvements. Our design philosophy is to make incremental improvements as we design them. This means that every frame might be different from the last one. Your frame may look slightly different than what you see on the the images we have on the website. One thing we never do is go backwards in design. We are always moving forward and making our products better. We design, build, and ride our bikes regularly, so the improvement ideas are constantly brewing and adapting into production.

Order and Building Process

  1. Please select your size and build kit options below, or select frame only under the “build kit” drop down menu. Build Kits are a standard starting point for complete bike components, but you can request changes to the parts list for your bike. We also may need to substitute based on availability.
  2. All Lenz Sport Launch frames are 100% handmade-to-order. Quality of craftsmanship and riding performance is the number one focus at Lenz Sport, not super fast delivery times. We take pride  in the quality of every single frame we make, and we never cut corners to speed up the process.
  3. Frames are built to order, but we often have the frame you need in stock. Please email us for current availability. We will provide you with an estimated lead time. Sometimes it takes more time than we expect, and sometimes less. We do not guarantee delivery dates until the bike is complete and ready to ship.
  4. If you prefer to start with a smaller deposit, please click this link. Otherwise, select the options below or email us for customized build kit quotes.

**all deposits are non-refundable and lead times are never guaranteed. Lenz Sport is dedicated to building handmade and extremely high quality bike frames, wheels, and full bikes. We fabricate every single part of the frame in house down to the bolts, dropouts, pivots, and cable guides. The manufacturing process is very unique and can vary in the amount of time it takes. By ordering this frame, you are getting something special and different from what any other company in the world can offer. We greatly appreciate your patience throughout the process and we look forward to delivering your bike. We cannot provide constant updates, but we will let you know when your frame is almost ready for power coating so we can finalize your custom color choice. Until then, let us know if you want to make any changes to your component choices or frame options.

Place your order by choosing the options you want below.  See the components tab for details on parts included with the standard model.  The standard issue handlebar for the Launch is our Lenz BMX bar; the upgraded handlebar is the Dirt Jumper style.  Medium frames come with the short BMX style bar; Large frames come with the tall BMX style bar.

**Components and colors in photos may differ from actual. We reserve the right to make component substitutions of equal or greater quality based on availability.  If you are ordering a Fox shock or fork, it may delay the build and shipment of your bike due to in-stock availability. **

CUSTOM & UPGRADED COLORS – The Launch comes with your choice of a single color along with your choice of decal color.  For upgraded paint options, choose the Custom Color option below; click HERE to learn more about the different color options. Ordering a color other than a single color may delay the build and shipment of your bike.  All of the bits and pieces (tidbits) are black; however, you can choose to have the following tidbits painted: handlebar, handlebar stem, knucklehead tower, ski adapters, foot pegs, seat clamp.  The price range for painted tidbits is $50-125 depending on what you chose.  If interested in painted tidbits, please put a note in the “comments” field during the ordering process.

I bought a launch 3 1/2 seasons ago. The only maintenance I’ve done since then was to replace the front fork this season to get additional travel and I upgraded the attachment mechanism to the newest version. I’ll be riding this bike for years to come. It has handled every square inch of winter park, steamboat Breckenridge and Eldora. I’m sure it’ll handle every inch of every other resort I ever take it to. Pick your color, pick your skis and pick your suspension and you’re ready to go.

I Have been riding my Launch for 6 years now. I have never had any problems with it. I am an aggressive rider hitting jumps, drops, and lots of steep moguls. I have also ridden other brands and this is the best built and best riding ski bike of them all.
